I make a mean banana loaf/pudding!!

I decide to bake the other day. When I bake I usually am eager to bake my banana loaf/pudding. Reason why I call it a loaf pudding is because it’s not like all banana loaves. I was with my granny when I discovered this recipe, I decide that a loaf was just too dry for my liking so I thought id mix in pudding ingredients and maybe it would be moist and it definitely came out so moist I decided to call it a loaf/pudding(I couldn’t find anything shorter and anyway i just thought to myself that it wa unique)2015-09-27_23.34.42

(I’m really hoping that by next year I would’ve brought together enough money to get myself a proper camera*fingers crossed*)

So I’m sure you waiting for the recipe but that I will definitely post with my other special recipes on another day, although if you would really like to have the recipe you may email me on Kabaselenadined@gmail.com and I’ll hook you up 🙂

All things green. . .

So lately I’ve taken on this task of eating more green foods, but I just choose to stick to lettuce.

Two dishes that ive really enjoyed ever since I started this task. A young green salad with roasted sweet chilli chicken and plain lettuce leaves with a drizzle of mayonnaise with fish bakes (not really into such this but I actual enjoyed it). For those who don’t know what a fish bake is,it is a mixture of mashed potato and fish all mixed up and coated with sometimes bread crumbs or flour. I would really love to upload the pictures I took of my two delicious dishes but my phone caught a virus which deleted some of my folder but as a follower of #FoodPornNetwork I, trust you all can use your creative juices to imagine the images …Pretty normal I think.

SweetRevelations

Well here we are toe to toe with 2014.   It’s been a crazy year in our house and a busy year in blog world too.  I’m sitting here with a cup of dark hot chocolate munching on these yummy treats thinking about what’s ahead.

It’s been a year full of first experiences for me.  I started exercising and ran my first race.  I was published in the launch issue of a national magazine for the first time.  I hand finished some furniture for our home.  I started a new job that brings me immense joy.  I volunteered in my community.   I learned that putting yourself out there can be exhilarating and heartbreaking all at the same time.

I learned to truly appreciate you too, dear readers.  The sheer love of good food connects us all over the world.   Your comments and questions help this become a better place.  Help me become a better baker, blogger, writer.  Your patience…

Cranberry, Orange and Chocolate Biscotti

Biscotti ❤

SweetRevelations

Biscotti is by far my favourite afternoon pick me up with tea.  I don’t bake it much in the summer, but as soon as fall rolls around it’s in the oven pretty much weekly.

When I owned the bake shop, I would make an enormous batch every Christmas Eve.  I always tied a clear bag that was full of biscotti, with some gorgeous Christmas ribbon, and gave it to my customers as they picked up their Christmas baking.  As a way of saying thank you for their patronage each year.  I keep a jar of Biscotti in the cupboard at work too.  I’m all for sharing!   Anyone is welcome to come and grab a piece with their afternoon tea.   It’s kind of like my way of spreading love.

Cookie love.  Chocolate-y, orange-y, crunchy cookie love.

Now this is something to try out 😉

Mug Cake 1

Mug cakes have been an internet’s favorite for quiet sometime now.  Personally, I think they are okay as a quick fix for dessert cravings and are definitely convenient and easy to put together. That said, it surely can not replace the real thing for me.

With so many recipes floating on the web it is exciting to try new flavors but at the same time these simple recipes can easily turn into a failure if you don’t pay attention to the cooking time. The duration you cook these cakes can be tricky – a simple rule to follow to make these cakes successful is to start with cooking them for 50 to 60 seconds and then gradually cook the cake at an increments of 10 seconds. Every microwave is different so instead of going by the time listed in a particular recipe – its safer to check at a 50 second mark and then take it from there…
